A new breed of pickup was designed for drivers who do not need or want a
full-size truck, but need something bigger than a compact. The 2004, 2005 and 2006 Chevrolet
Colorado and 2004, 2005 and 2006 GMC Canyons were built with more hip, leg and head room.
Fuel Injection Performance Kit for the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon
K&N Engineering has designed a 57-Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-3051) to replace the factory intake assembly on the 2004 to 2006 GMC Canyon 2.8L L4 F/1 and the 2004 to 2006 Chevrolet Colorado 2.8L L4 F1. With K&N's
57-Series FIPK your engine gets cool dense air with less restriction. Our dyno
test showed a 11.21 horsepower gain at 5800 RPM on the 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
2.8L.
"The biggest hurdle our K&N Engineers had to face was designing an intake tube
that would not need to be reprogrammed, was able to make the power gain and not
have the check engine light come on," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert
Heck. "It took an extra two months on the development side to get everything
right. We also had to bring in three additional trucks to verify what we gained
on the first three test vehicles. It was a lot of extra work but we developed a
tube that met our standards and the trucks liked."
The 57-Series FIPK uses K&N's high flow, washable and reusable air filter. It is
designed to be installed in 90 minutes or less with common tools. The K&N filter
performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is required depending on driving
conditions. The (57-3051) FIPK Kit also comes with the famous K&N Million Mile
Limited Warranty.
