Headquartered in Japan, Suzuki Motor Corporation is a multinational business that manufactures automobiles, ATVs, motorcycles, marine engines, wheelchairs and a variety of small internal combustion engines.

Founded in 1909 as a manufacturer of weaving looms for a booming silk industry, Suzuki began building cars in 1937 that were powered by a then-innovative, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-cylinder engine. It featured a cast aluminum crankcase and gearbox and delivered 13-horsepower from a displacement of less than 800 cc.

The company was forced to give up its automobile manufacturing during World War II and after the war it returned to constructing looms The United States government approved the export of cotton to Japan, which appeared to provide a boost to the textile market, but by 1951 the domestic market collapsed.

As a result, Suzuki returned to manufacturing motor vehicles including motor-bicycles, two-wheel vehicles powered by a motor. Known as the Power Free, by 1952 it was being powered by a 36 cc one horsepower, two-stroke engine. An innovative double-sprocket gear system allowed the rider to either pedal with the engine assisting, pedal without engine assist, or simply disconnect the pedals and run on engine power only. The new democratic government granted Suzuki a financial subsidy so that it could continue research on the vehicle.

By 1954, Suzuki was producing 6,000 motorcycles a month.

Today, the company manufactures a number of motorcycle models including the GSR750 (also known as the GSX-S750) and the GSR600.

Unveiled in 2011, the GSR750 features a 6-speed transmission with multi-plate clutch and a 749 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC inline 4-cylinder fuel injected engine with 16 valves that delivers 106-horsepower.

The rider has the capability of adjusting the brightness of the instrument cluster that include an easy-to-read analogue tachometer and a large digital LCD speedometer with average fuel consumption meter, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, odometer/trip meter and a clock.

The current generation GSX-R750, also called Gixxer, was introduced in 2011 and is the longest produced GSX-R 750 series without any major changes. The cycle includes Italian made Brembo brake calipers in front and Nissin calipers in back. It is 20-pounds (9 kilograms) lighter than the model made before 2011 and includes a "back torque limiting" clutch that permits slicker downshifting. It also includes a lightweight Showa Big Piston Fork and a Showa rear shock. The engine power produced on the rear wheel is 127.9-horsepower at 12,600 rpm. Torque at the rear wheel is 55.7 lb-ft (75.5 N-m) at 11,100 rpm.

Originally introduced in 2006, the current Suzuki GSR600 includes a 599 cc 16v inline four engine, fully adjustable rear suspension and street fighter styling.

After winning Round 4 in New Jersey and making the Final Four in the next round in Canada, knocked out by the eventual winner, things were looking good for Vaughn Gittin Jr. in his quest for the 2016 Formula D Championship.

With more seat time in his new-for-2016 900 horsepower 2016 Ford Mustang RTR, Gittin Jr. went into the Seattle round, at Evergreen Speedway, on August 5 and 6 with a certain degree of confidence for a good result. All started well when he qualified number one, pairing him in the first round with the driver who qualified 32rd.

In the next round Gittin Jr. was paired up against Dean Kearney, a racer from Ireland with 28 European podium finishes and the 2009 Prodrift: European Series Championship to his credit. Kearney is best recognized on track driving his black and orange Dodge Viper.

Gittin Jr. doing his best to fight off Irish driver and former European champion Dean Kearney, but the advantage would go to Kearney on that day in Washington.

If you were the top qualifier for the event as well as season-long points leader, you'd be smiling, too. The next day wouldn't go as well.

The pairing was tighter than anyone had expected. After two runs, first with Gittin Jr. leading, then with him following, the three judges were deadlocked. A call of "One More Time" was made and the two drivers competed in another pair of runs. This time the judges selected Kearney as the winner. Gittin Jr. would advance no further in Seattle. He was credited with a ninth place finish.

In a video posted by Gittin Jr. shortly after the run, he expressed perhaps a little surprise at the result. By being eliminated so early in the competition, he dropped from the top of the year-long championship points standings. In another post he quickly shifted gears to the fact that he's still in third place, 5 points behind second and 10 points behind first, with two more events to go. Arguably the most popular motorcycle manufacturer in the world, Harley-Davidson® was created in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1903 and is one of two American motorcycle builders to survive the Great Depression.

Everything to install the system is included in the box. All you need is some basic hand tools and around 90 minutes of time and you'll be cruising down the road in style.

Known as the originator of the chopper style of motorcycles, it has traditionally offered heavyweight, air-cooled cruisers with an engine displacement greater than 700cc and also known for V-Twin Racing Street Custom (VRSC) and middleweight street platforms.

In 1901, prior to the launch of the business, 20-year-old William S. Harley drew up a plan for the company's first motor bicycle that included a small engine with a 7.07-cubic inch (116 cc) displacement and 4-inch (102 mm) flywheel with the idea of integrating it to a regular pedal-bicycle frame. Harley enlisted the help of childhood friend Arthur Davidson and Arthur's brother Walter and the three tinkered for the next two years resulting in the creation of a motor-bicycle.

While riding the contraption, the three discovered that it wasn't powerful enough to climb the hills around Milwaukee without some pedal assistance and they dropped it and immediately started developing an improved second-generation machine that featured a 24.74-cubic inch (405 cc) engine with 9.75 inches (25 cm) flywheels. The loop frame design of a larger engine took the machine out of the category of a motor bicycle and it became the forerunner of what we now know as a motorcycle.

In 1905 and 1906, they were producing single-cylinder models with a 26.84-cubic inch (440 cc) engine and in February 1907 a prototype model with a 45-degree V-Twin engine was showcased at the Chicago Automobile Show.

The 45-degree angle of the engine received several United States patents and allowed more torque in a relatively small space. The layout causes the cylinders to fire at uneven intervals producing a distinctive choppy sound that has been associated with the Harley-Davidson brand.

Through the years Harley-Davidson has produced a variety of engines to power its motorcycles including 13 Big V-twins, eight Small V-twins, the Revolution and single-cylinder engines.

Italian-automobile manufacturer Fiat has been instrumental in promoting the popularity of the so-called city car with its Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda.

The Fiat 500 was introduced into the United States for the second time when the Fiat Group acquired a 20% stake in the U.S. car manufacturer Chrysler in 2009. In 2013 Fiat introduced the Fiat 500 turbo. It was the fifth variants of the 500 that included the Pop, Sport, Lounge, Turbo and Abarth.

The 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that powers the 500 turbo generates 135-horsepower and 150 lbs-ft of torque from 2,500 to 4,000 rpms. In comparison, the turbo-less 500 has a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 34 fewer hp and 52 fewer lbs-ft of torque.

The turbo and Abarth share a heavy-duty 5-speed manual transmission and it has a fuel economy rating of 28 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway and 31 combined mpg. In comparison, the base 500 with manual transmission achieves a combined mpg of 34.

A 101-horsepower 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine powers the 2015 version of the 500. Fiat offers a choice of two transmissions –- a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.

The exterior exhibits 15-inch steel wheels. However, 15-inch or 16-inch aluminum wheels are also available. It also includes power-adjustable heated side mirrors, rear spoiler, and chrome exhaust tip. Fog lights and power sunroof are also available.

Inside the car features clothe upholstery. However, leather is available. Other characteristics include a 50/50 split, folding backseat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote keyless entry, and Bluetooth connectivity. A navigation system is available as an option.

The Fiat Panda was introduced in 1980 as a no-frills utility vehicle. It came in two styles –- 3-door hatchback and 3-door cabriolet and buyers had a choice of eight engines. The gasoline engines included a 652 cc I2, 769 cc I4, 903 cc I4, 965 cc I4, and a 999 cc I4. There was one diesel engine, a 1,301 cc I4.

The Panda is currently in its third generation, which began in 2011. Six different engines are available to power the vehicle including four turbocharged.

Five models are available –- Panda Natural Power, Panda EasyPower, Panda Trekking, Panda 4x4, and Panda Cross.  There are two special edition models including the Panda 4x4 Steyr, which celebrates Fiat’s partnerships with Steyr-Daimler-Puch; and the Panda 4x4 Antarctica, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Panda 4x4.
