2008-2009 Kawasaki KFX450R K&N Air Intake Adds Horsepower & Torque

K&N air intake for 2008-2009 Kawasaki KFX450R ATV

The 57-1124 provides accommodations for the 2008-2009 Kawasaki KFX450R ATV factory crankcase vent line and inlet air temperature sensor

In each segment of the motorcycle and ATV market there always seems to be one manufacturer that makes a do-it-all product, and it’s not always the same manufacturer. It may be Honda in one segment, Yamaha in another, and Kawasaki in yet another. This jack-of-all-trades probably isn’t the absolute fastest around the track, maybe doesn’t make the most peak horsepower, and isn’t necessarily the most ergonomic for long trail rides, but it does check every checkbox and checks them quite well.

The 2008 to 2009 Kawasaki KFX450R is exactly this quintessential jack-of-all-trades. It can keep pace on the track with an advanced, digitally-controlled fuel-injected engine while still having the convenience of a reverse gear to help keep trail riding enjoyable. Its suspension and brakes setup can whip the rear end around corners while still being comfortable enough for longer adventures. Whether your KFX450R is a track-day titan or weekend trailblazer, unlock some additional performance from that advanced engine with the K&N 57-1124 performance air intake system.

K&N air intake for 2008-2009 Kawasaki KFX450R ATV

A K&N Drycharger filter wrap is included with the K&N 2008-2009 Kawasaki KFX450R ATV air intake to help protect the filter from excessive moisture and dust

The 57-1124 is guaranteed to increase horsepower on the 2008 and 2009 Kawasaki KFX450R ATV. Off-road racing and riding are extremely dirty, physically demanding environments, and the 57-1124 is built to withstand the abuse. A strong, high-density polyethylene intake tube replaces the factory one which helps to streamline airflow into the engine. Streamlined airflow means your engine can fill the cylinder more efficiently and make more power.  The system also makes accommodations for the factory crankcase vent line and inlet air temperature sensor; while a heat shield shrouds the filter from heat coming off the engine.

A K&N RC-4630XD extreme duty air filter is fitted to the end of the intake tube and covered with a RC-4630DK Drycharger pre filter wrap to provide excellent air filtration and engine protection. This air filter is constructed with K&N’s XD filter media which is tighter-weave cotton gauze in 4 pleated layers to ensure the incoming air stays clean even in the dustiest of environments. Another benefit of the RC-4630XD filter’s design is it’s washable and reusable. When the dirt exceeds the wire mesh, simply service the filter with a K&N Recharger kit and you’ll be back on the trail in no time.

K&N air intake installed into a 2008-2009 Kawasaki KFX450R ATV

The 57-1124 dramatically reduces restriction which allows your 2008-2009 Kawasaki KFX450R engine to breathe easier and will provide a guaranteed increase in horsepower

All of these superior components come together to deliver superior airflow and superior performance. On the dyno, a 2009 Kawasaki KFX450R equipped with the K&N 57-1124 produced an additional 4.5 horsepower and 3.3 pound-feet of torque at 7100 rpm over the factory air intake. For a small 449cc engine, that’s a noticeable increase in power.

The 57-1124 KX450R air intake system from K&N is an easy-to-install upgrade and comes with step-by-step instructions, including a list of the tools required to install it. Installation can usually be completed in 90 minutes or less. Also, K&N backs the 57-1124 with a One-year/Unlimited Mileage Warranty so owners can have the peace of mind that their new intake system will withstand the wear and tear of off-road romping.

2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L with K&N 77-Series Intake Realizes an Increase in Horsepower

K&N 77-1570KS Performance Intake System for the 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L

K&N 77-1570KS Performance Intake System for the 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L

Reviving a famous nameplate is often a tricky thing to do. The new model has to meet a whole new set of market demands, while still paying homage to the original. So when Fiat-Chrysler rolled out the 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee, they blended modern technology and car-like driving behavior, with some iconic characteristics of the much-loved Cherokee XJ. Like its namesake, the current Cherokee KL is just "the right size", it's a comfortable on-road "chore buddy", and the Trail Rated 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L 4x4 can take you places that Verizon has never even heard of.

The 184-hp 2.4L Tigershark engine also comes within 6-hp of the XJ's venerable 190-hp 4.0L straight-6. But the new motor is much lighter, and it gets way better gas mileage than the old AMC inline 6. And while 184-hp is adequate for most on/off road situations, the K&N 77-1570KS Performance Intake System can give your 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L faster throttle response, more horsepower, and more torque. This extra horsepower would allow your new 2014-2015 Cherokee to handily out perform its famous predecessor.

This is the basic recipe to make horsepower: In a metal cylinder, add 1-part gasoline, 14-parts air, and one big spark. When the mixture is sufficiently compressed by the piston, trigger the spark plug to ignite. The resulting explosion will force the piston back down, turning the crankshaft and ultimately, the wheels. For additional horsepower, substitute warm turbulent air for a higher volume of oxygen-rich cold air. This allows the fuel to burn more completely, which results in a more forceful detonation (i.e. extra horsepower). Serve the horsepower hot, with a generous helping of torque.

2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee

When Fiat-Chrysler rolled out the 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee, they blended modern technology and car-like driving behavior, with some iconic characteristics of the much-loved Cherokee XJ

In a perfect world, that's a tongue-in-cheek description of how your engine makes power. But the reality is that most restrictive factory intake systems, like the one installed on your 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L, aren't capable of delivering enough air to achieve the full horsepower capability of the motor. The K&N 77-1570KS Performance Intake System on the other hand, is engineered to deliver a higher volume of horsepower-rich cold air, by straightening the airflow path, and reducing restrictions.

The K&N air intake replaces the narrow plastic intake tube with a larger K&N aluminum intake tube, which features mandrel-bent curves to provide a wider, less restricted airflow path. The silver powder coated finish not only looks great, but it provides protection for the aluminum tubing to make it easy to clean. This K&N intake tube has built-in fittings for the inlet air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. So you can install the system in about 90 minutes, without making any additional modifications under the hood.

To feed a high volume of cold air to your 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L Tigershark engine, the K&N 77-Series Performance Intake System utilizes an oversized conical K&N air filter that lives behind a heat shield where the stock air box used to be. The rugged heat shield keeps warm air from entering the system, while directing a steady flow of cold air into the filter. Besides flowing considerably more air, that reusable cotton-gauze air filter cleans the air with 97-99% filtration efficiency. Removing even microscopic contaminants from the air, to keep your engine protected on the trail, or on the highway.

The large K&N conical air filters used on K&N air intake systems can also go for up to 100,000 miles before it needs to be cleaned. But if you do a lot of trail riding, or drive in dusty/dirty conditions, you'll want to inspect the air filter every 25,000 miles. Cleaning is easily performed with a readily available K&N Recharger air filter service kit.

The heavy-duty components of a K&N 77-Series Intake System were developed specifically for trucks and SUV/Off-Roading applications. So the system can withstand some serious abuse. Plus, the air filter, and the entire K&N 77-1570KS Performance Intake System is backed by a 10-Year/million mile limited warranty. So your Cherokee is guaranteed to perform better for many years.

K&N installed a K&N 77-1570KS Performance Intake System on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L, and dyno testing revealed an estimated increase of 3.37 horsepower and 4.31 lb-ft of torque. The throttle response was also sharpened, because the additional airflow allows the engine to make more power at lower RPMs. Your individual results may vary however, based on the mileage, modifications, and condition of your specific Cherokee.

By giving you more power lower in the rev-band, the K&N 77-1570KS Performance Intake System can help your 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L to start becoming a legend in its own right. K&N also makes lots more performance parts for other Jeep models like the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, or Liberty. To explore our extensive parts catalog, click here to use the Search by Vehicle Tool. 2006, 2007 and 2008 Suzuki LTR 450 QuadRacer with K&N Intake Go to the Next Level

Caption

By virtually eliminating airflow restrictions, the K&N 57-1128 FIPK Performance Intake System can make your 2006, 2007, or 2008 Suzuki LTR 450 QuadRacer into a QuadWinner

From the very beginning, the 2006-2008 Suzuki LTR 450 QuadRacer was intended to be a race-ready factory hotrod. During its development, Motocross Champion Doug Gust worked with Suzuki engineers to create a powerful, track-ready quad that was predictable, and easy to control. They gave it a wide track front and rear, with a fully adjustable suspension that could be quickly modified to suit the rider's weight and track conditions.

Caption

From the very beginning, the 2006, 2007, or 2008 Suzuki LTR 450 QuadRacer was intended to be a race-ready factory hotrod, with Motocross Champion Doug Gust involved in its development

A special lightweight frame kept the engine and the center-of-gravity down low. And the race-derived 450cc motor featured dual overhead cams, fuel injection, and (approx.) 41 screaming horsepower. With just 368 lbs (dry weight) to lug around, the Suzuki QuadRacer LTR450 is fast enough for the average rider. But if you're looking for a competitive edge at the track (or around your buddies), the K&N 57-1128 FIPK Performance Air Intake System can add an estimated 2.7 horsepower, and transform the way your quad rides.

In order for an engine to burn fuel and make power, air has to be drawn into the cylinder to act as a catalyst during combustion. Normally that air is brought in through the factory intake system, which uses a series of narrow tubes to funnel air through the restrictive paper air filter, to the throttle body. But as that air is forced around sharp curves, over uneven surfaces, and into different sized tubes, it starts to heat up and gains turbulence, which causes it to lose some of its combustion potential.

To recapture some of that lost horsepower, the K&N 57-1128 FIPK Performance Intake System creates a more direct airflow path to the engine. A larger, aerodynamically designed HDPE intake tube replaces the smaller factory unit, and links the throttle body directly to the oversized K&N high-flow air filter. This allows lots of clean air to go right into that big 450cc cylinder, without having to travel around a bunch of twists and turns. A sturdy powder coated heat shield mounts in place of the stock air box, and helps to keep the intake system free of warm engine air. Plus, the reusable cotton gauze air filter can be quickly cleaned after a dust-filled race to maintain optimum airflow.

To aide installation, and make this K&N 57-Series FIPK Performance Intake System completely legal in all 50-states, the Suzuki 450's inlet air temperature sensor plugs into a fitting on the back of the heat shield. And there's also a fitting on the intake tube for the crank case vent hose. Since you won't have to make any modifications to appease the sensors, you'll be able to install the FIPK intake system in around 90 minutes.

K&N installed 57-1128 on a stock 2008 Suzuki LTR450 (you can see pictures of it in the installation guide), and the dyno tests revealed an estimated increase of 2.74 horsepower and 2.17 ft-lb of torque. The additional air also improved the throttle response and engine sound. But your individual results may vary, due to the mileage, modifications, and condition of your specific Suzuki LT-R450 QuadRacer.

By virtually eliminating airflow restrictions, the K&N 57-1128 FIPK Performance Intake System can give your 2006-2008 Suzuki LTR 450 QuadRacer enough extra horsepower to go from a QuadRacer to a QuadWinner. And don't forget, K&N makes an entire line of rugged ATV performance parts. To explore our entire ATV parts catalog, click here to use the Search by Vehicle Tool. 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino Air Intake System Adds Off-Road Power

2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino K&N 57-1121 air intake system

K&N 57-1121 FIPK Performance Air Intake was designed for the 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino

Designed to make work fun, the Yamaha Rhino is a capable sport UTV that has plenty of room for 2 people and 400 lbs of cargo. Or, you could pile 1,200 lbs of your stuff into a trailer and pull it behind you. The Rhino practically invented the sport Side by Side segment when it was introduced over a decade ago. And the 2008-2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino continued to set new UTV benchmarks, with innovative features like fully locking shift-on-the-fly 4WD, a fully independent suspension with 7.3 inches of travel and optional adjustable shocks, and front/rear disc brakes with automatic engine braking. Whether you want to spend the day riding trails, or getting stuff done on the 'back-40', the 40-hp motor in the Yamaha YXR700 Rhino will get you where you need to go. But if you want to give your Rhino a bit more 'charging' power (pardon the pun), the K&N 57-1121 FIPK Performance Intake System can add an estimated 3-hp, by simply allowing the engine to breathe.

2008-2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino

Whether you want to spend the day riding trails, or getting stuff done on the 'back-40', a K&N air intake for 2008-2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino models will help get you where you need to go

The 2008-2011 Yamaha Rhino's fuel injected 686cc engine makes power by igniting a combination of gasoline and air inside its single cylinder. The gas is pulled from the tank, and then sprayed under pressure, directly into the cylinder. No big deal. The air on the other hand, has to first travel through the dirt-caked paper air filter inside the stock air box, and then it has to traverse the obstructions and tight bends inside the narrow intake tube. The air then arrives at the throttle body swirling and hot. Since warm air doesn't contain as much oxygen as cold air, these uneven spurts of warm air won't burn the fuel inside the cylinder as efficiently as it could. The K&N 57-1121 FIPK Performance Air Intake System is designed to provide a more direct airflow path, virtually eliminate air turbulence, and remove air intake tract restrictions. This allows a high volume of cool air to be delivered right to the throttle body, where it can be used to more effectively burn the fuel and create additional horsepower.

2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino K&N 57-1121 air intake system

To improve the performance of your 2008-2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino FI, the K&N 57-1121 FIPK Performance Intake System replaces restrictive factory components

To improve the performance of your 2008-2011 Yamaha YXR700 Rhino FI, the K&N 57-1121 FIPK Performance Intake System replaces that accordion-like factory intake tube, with a much larger roto-molded HDPE (high density polyethylene) intake tube. This smooth-bore tube is shorter and wider than the stock tube, so the air can flow directly through the K&N air filter, and right into the engine. A rugged heat shield helps keep the filter from collecting warm engine air, and it fits in place of the stock air box.

Dyno chart for a 2008 Yamaha Rhino 700 FI with a K&N 57-1121 FIPK Performance Air Intake installed

Thanks to its aerodynamically optimized straight-flow design, installing the entire system should take about 90 minutes. The cotton gauze air filter is positioned within easy reach. So every time your Rhino gets covered in mud/dirt/whatever, you can just pop it off, clean it using a K&N Recharger kit, and stick it back on. K&N air filters are extremely durable and will provide years of performance and engine protection.

Back in 2008, K&N installed a K&N 57-1121 FIPK Performance Intake System on a stock 2008 Yamaha Rhino 700, and the dyno chart showed an estimated horsepower increase of 3.18-hp. The improved airflow also caused the engine to sound better, and respond more quickly to throttle inputs. But your individual results may vary, due to the mileage, modifications, and condition of your specific 2008-2011 YXR700 Rhino.
