The K&N Air Filters supported FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) team of Aston Martin Racing won the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race in Francorchamps, Stavelot, Belgium in both the GTE Pro and GTE Am classes. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps hosts the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix race and the course consists of 20 turns spread over 7 km (approximately 4.3 miles). The course is considered by many to be one of the most challenging race tracks in the world, due to its fast, hilly and twisty nature. Spa-Francorchamps is a favorite track among both drivers and spectators.

Aston Martin Racing runs five grand touring cars in the FIA WEC with both professional and amateur drivers behind the wheel. The #99 Aston Martin, which was the eventual Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps GTE Pro class winning car, started the race from the front of the grid thanks to an impressive qualifying session by drivers Fernando Rees and Richie Stanaway. A third driver, Alex MacDowall, joined the race and the trio pushed hard with their pit crew assisting with near-perfect pit-stops to cross the line in first place. Aston Martin Racing’s additional entries in the GTE Pro class had respectable finishes at the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The Aston Martin Racing #97 Vantage GTE finished fifth in the GTE Pro class and the #95 Aston Martin finished sixth.

After the race, Richie Stanaway, one of three drivers of the K&N filters equipped #99 Aston Martin said “That was an amazing result for us. I’ve got to say a huge thanks to the team. They’ve been practicing a lot on their pit stops and I think that’s where we really hit it home today. They were able to hit 16-second stops every time and put the Ferrari guys under pressure. I couldn’t be happier and I’m now really looking forward to Le Mans.”

Team Aston Martin Racing took a second win in the GTE Am class with the #98 Vantage GTE car piloted by Pedro Lamy, Paul Dalla Lana, and Mathias Lauda. The team’s win at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is its second in a row and they will carry that momentum into the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13-14, 2015. “After the win at Silverstone, the pole position here yesterday and then getting maximum points today, we are really thinking about the championship. The team did a fantastic job and our pit-stops were excellent,” said Mathias Lauda, one of three drivers of the K&N equipped #98 Vantage GTE, after the Aston Martin Racing win in the GTE Am class at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Aston Martin Racing’s Team Principal John Gaw commented “Congratulations to the #99 drivers for getting their first WEC GTE Pro race win and to #98 for continuing their clean sweep of GTE Am pole positions and wins this season. We’ve got some more points in the bag this weekend, as all cars finished the race, but we need to make the most of double points in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in order to strengthen our WEC GTE Manufacturer’s Title campaign.” The K&N Air Filters supported FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) team of Aston Martin Racing will race again when the WEC continues with the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13-14, 2015.

"Our goal has long been to have the best product data and brand website in the auto parts industry, and it is an honor for our website to be awarded that distinction by NCMA. We invest in product data because it drives sales and builds brand loyalty. Our website educates consumers about our products, and helps to refer them to our network of thousands of local retail parts and accessory stores worldwide. The website also forms the foundation for product data that we share with our distribution partners to help them effectively sell K&N products and grow sales. Our website is the published result of thousands of hours of combined behind-the-scenes efforts from a cross functional team at K&N that includes web design, product data specialists, content development, marketing, and product development. Product information is vital to our product design, manufacturing, distribution, and marketing processes. We work to provide K&N dealers with comprehensive and complete product information. We are also constantly working to improve the functionality of the website, and have built a platform that integrates responsive design and usability features for mobile users as well as desktop users. People have great experiences using our products, and we want the website to deliver a great user experience as well."

Mike Garner, K&N's Internet Business Manager, has been at the helm of the award winning website for nearly 15 years. "It is a great honor to get this award from NCMA," Garner stated. "Knowing that the awards are decided by automotive industry members makes it even more meaningful. We have many people in many departments here at K&N that work together to provide outstanding product information that we use on our website, our systems and in files we provide to our customers. In the past year on KNFilters.com we have made many improvements including additional product attributes, images and documents. We also have added new pages and functionality to our mobile website, www.knfilters.com/mobile. Our mobile website has been optimized for finding parts with greater ease, and when you find the right part our dealer search can use your current location to show dealers near you. If you told John Dodge and Horace Dodge at the beginning of the 19th century that their baby, the Dodge Brothers Company, would become one of the biggest automobile companies in the world, they would probably have laughed out loud. Or maybe not? Maybe they secretly knew the potential of this family run business to affect the lives of millions and influence the automotive industry on an unprecedented level. John and Horace’s original business was a bicycle company that they soon sold in order to open up a machine shop in Detroit, Michigan, to make parts for the booming auto industry. After over a decade of making parts for companies such as Ford Motor Co, they opened up their own auto business.

In 1928, Dodge Brothers Company was bought out by the Chrysler Corporation that took Dodge vehicles to the next level of global awareness and production. The Dodge division of Chrysler continued to grow as the years passed releasing model after model and ultimately leading up to the creation of the Dodge Charger. The Charger was a response to the muscle car era in which Ford released the Mustang and Plymouth released the Barracuda. The extensive history of the Dodge Charger began in the 60’s and still runs strong today as the engine, aesthetics and overall performance continues to be a force to be reckoned with. K&N is all about performance and improving it when possible. That’s why K&N has had a long tradition of offering power gaining products for Dodge models. This includes a range of amazing high performance air intake products for 2006-2015 Dodge Charger models.

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Dodge Chargers with 2.7L V6 engine have a K&N air intake option available, K&N’s 57-1544. The 57-1544 comes with a chrome topped K&N air filter and a heat shield and produces an estimated 7.3 horsepower once it hits 5693 RPM. The same 2006-2010 Dodge Chargers with the 3.5L engine can utilize the 57-1543 which shows estimated gains of 11.6 HP at 6215 RPM.

Owners of the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Dodge Charger models with either the 5.7L or 6.1L V8 engine cans benefit from one of two K&N air intake options. The K&N 57-1542 is designed to improve throttle response and increase horsepower by an estimated 21 at 5216 RPM. The 57-1542 comes with a free-flowing high density polyethylene tube and a heat shield that protects the air filter from heat emanating from the engine. The second option is the K&N 69-2526TP which is a part of the K&N Typhoon cold air intake series. The air intake tube has a chrome-like finish and accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The K&N 69-2526TP showed an estimated 11.6 horsepower gain on the K&N dyno when it hit the 4854 RPM range. The 2011- 2015 Dodge Charger 5.7L also can benefit from increased performance with the K&N 69-2526TP.

Owners of the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Dodge Charger with the 3.6L also has two K&N air intake options available to them, the K&N 63-1564 or 69-2544TP. The K&N 63-1564 Aircharger Intake Kit produces an estimated 8 horsepower at 5231 RPM, whereas the K&N 69-2544TP showed an estimated gain of 7.4 horsepower at 5095 RPM.

2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015 Dodge Charger models with the 5.7 liter engine have an easy bolt on upgrade option from K&N. The K&N 63-1114 will replace the restrictive factory air filter and air intake with a high performance alternative. The cooler and denser air, coupled with the high air flow rates showed estimated gains of 11. 7 horsepower when at 4513 RPM.

K&N produces a variety of air intakes for 2011-2016 Dodge Charger 6.4L V8 models. The 2011-2016 Dodge Charger 6.4L V8 can increase performance with the K&N 63-1565 cold air intake or by using the 71-2545. Both of these intakes are guaranteed to increase horsepower. The 71 series Blackhawk Induction Systems air intake comes with a sleek blacked-out finish and produces an estimated 9 HP at 4564 RPM. The 63-1565 showed an incredible gain estimated gain of 21 horsepower when the Charger reached 5216 RPM. The 2011-2016 Dodge Charger 6.4L V8 can also increase performance with the K&N Typhoon Air Intake 69-2545TP which also shows a sizable horsepower gain. The K&N 69-2545TP produces an estimated 22.2 HP at 5216 RPM.

The Dodge Charger continues to be an impressive powerhouse within the automotive industry, and especially among other models of muscle cars. Boost your performance now with one of these K&N air intake options. For a list of K&N air intakes for a variety of Dodge Charger makes and models, please visit the Dodge Charger Air Intakes Page. Improve Ford Fusion Performance with K&N Air Intake Upgrades from K&N Air Filters

K&N makes a performance air intake system for first generation 2006-2012 Ford Fusion V6 and 4-cylinder models

K&N makes a performance air intake system for first generation 2006-2012 Ford Fusion V6 and 4-cylinder models

The Ford Fusion mid-size sedan was first introduced to the Americas in 2005 for the 2006 model year. The Fusion is slotted between the compact Ford Focus and the full-size Ford Taurus. A mid-size sedan offering had been missing from the Ford Motor Co. lineup since the discontinuation of the Ford Contour. With the Fusion, Ford was able to offer buyers looking for something that is “more car” than a Focus, but not as big or expensive as the Taurus. At its introduction the Ford Fusion combined styling, handling, and a “fun to drive” experience into a package aimed to take a chunk out of Toyota Camry and Honda Accord sales. Subscribers of Car and Driver and Road and Track magazines favored the American Ford Fusion over both the Camry and Accord in head-to-head comparisons.

Most car enthusiasts wouldn’t view the Ford Fusion as a performance vehicle. However, timing of its introduction aligned with Generation X buyers as they began to look for a practical, but fun, sedan. After all, once Gen-X’ers came of age and started families those small Honda Civics so popular just a few years earlier were beginning to feel very cramped. So for Ford Fusion owners that probably grew up during the sport compact tuner era, K&N has made it easy to add a performance upgrade to Ford Fusion models with a K&N air intake system. Michael Cannon from Texas recently wrote into K&N about his Ford Fusion intake 63-2588 and stated how pleased he was being able to equip his Ford Fusion with a K&N air intake system. He had previously installed a K&N intake on both his Ford Ranger and Honda Civic and praised K&N as “the only company that listened to customers and decided to produce a CAI for the 1.5L Fusion.”

K&N air intake 69-3514TTK was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 6.05 more horsepower on a 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L

The second generation Ford Fusion offers optional EcoBoost L4 engines for car buyers looking for a little more performance with the added benefit of more miles per gallon. Ford EcoBoost technology has managed to squeeze good power and excellent fuel economy out of surprisingly small engines. The performance bug has even managed to bite Fusion owners not previously interested in aftermarket parts due to the excitement over the fun to drive EcoBoost turbocharged engines. Chris Sessions from Texas, purchased Ford Fusion air intake 63-2585, and told K&N “This is the first mod that I’ve ever done. I’ve heard that it [K&N air intake] is a great first step in modifying your vehicle but I never did. I thought it would be so sweet so I had a friend of mine install it for me due to a lack of mechanical skills, but it was extremely simple.”

K&N makes a performance air intake system for the second generation 2013-2015 Ford Fusion 2.5L, 1.5L, 1.6L, or 2.0L Ecoboost models

K&N makes a performance air intake system for the second generation 2013-2015 Ford Fusion 2.5L as well as the 1.5L, 1.6L, or 2.0L Ecoboost models

The theory behind a K&N Ford Fusion air intake system is simple. K&N engineers are able free up horsepower by reducing restriction and turbulent airflow, while also maximizing the amount of air available to the Ford Fusion’s engine. By replacing the restrictive factory intake ducting and air filter box with a free-flowing air intake tube and an oversized K&N high-flow air filter; K&N air intake systems are able to minimize restriction, while also straightening, and increasing airflow to the engine. More air and less restriction means more usable power throughout the engine’s RPM range by allowing the engine to work more efficiently. Of his K&N Ford Fusion air intake 63-2585 Douglas Dove Bryan from Ohio said “The difference in acceleration is quite noticeable, and the extra performance is GREAT! I would tell anyone this is well worth the money!” In the case of Ecoboost powered Ford Fusion models, reducing restriction and increasing airflow will help the turbo spool up quicker for improved drivability.

K&N air intake 69-3533TTK was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 6.7 more horsepower on a 2013 Ford Fusion

K&N air intake 69-3533TTK was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 6.7 more horsepower on a 2013 Ford Fusion 2.5L

In addition to more power, installing a K&N air intake system will give the Ford Fusion a sportier engine sound. Better engine sound results from letting the Ford Fusion’s engine breathe easier by installing a K&N performance air intake system. A stock Ford Fusion won’t sound like a NASCAR stock car by adding a K&N air intake; however it will give the engine a deeper growl during acceleration and quiet down when cruising or at idle. As Don from Massachusetts said of his Ford Fusion intake 69-3533TTK “Another positive about this [K&N] CAI is that you only hear it when you really step on it. You don’t hear it under light acceleration or when you are just cruising which is beneficial to me because I am running about 2,200 RPM most of my commute to work.”

K&N air intake 63-2585 was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 10.05 more horsepower on a 2013 Ford Fusion 2.0L turbo

K&N air intake 63-2585 was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 10.05 more horsepower on a 2013 Ford Fusion 2.0L turbo

In addition to improving Ford Fusion horsepower and acceleration, a K&N air intake system will save Fusion owners time and money on maintenance costs. K&N’s over-sized reusable air filters are fitted to the inlet of the K&N air intake tube to provide superior airflow and superior performance without sacrificing engine protection. K&N air filters are washable and reusable and can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. When it is time to clean the Ford Fusion intake system air filter, it can be washed and made like new using one of the K&N Recharger air filter service kits. A K&N Recharger air filter cleaning kit contains a specially formulated degreaser and K&N air filter oil necessary to restore airflow efficiency and bring a K&N oiled cotton air filter to like new condition. When compared to purchasing disposable air filters again and again, a K&N air filter will pay for itself in just a couple cleanings.

K&N air intake 63-2586 was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 5.41 more horsepower on a 2013 Ford Fusion 1.6L Ecoboost

K&N air intake 63-2586 was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 5.41 more horsepower on a 2013 Ford Fusion 1.6L Ecoboost

K&N Ford Fusion performance intake systems are an easy to install performance upgrade that can be installed in about 90 minutes or less using basic hand tools. By following K&N’s simple step-by-step instructions owners of Ford Fusion models can experience increased performance while still being able to brag about their car's fuel efficiency. A K&N Ford Fusion performance air intake system maintains all necessary factory connections and does not require any additional modifications to experience a boost in performance. As Craig from Michigan said of his Ford Fusion air intake 69-3514TTK “It took about an hour to install this kit on my 2010 Fusion. It will never be a high-performance machine, but it sounds better, is a bit quicker, and my mileage went from 25.1 to 25.3 in two weeks with no highway driving.”

K&N air intake 63-2588 was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 8.41 more horsepower on a 2014 Ford Fusion 1.5L Ecoboost

K&N air intake 63-2588 was dyno tested and shown to make an estimated 8.41 more horsepower on a 2014 Ford Fusion 1.5L Ecoboost

Every K&N Ford Fusion performance air intake system is designed and tested on a chassis dynamometer to establish that it will provide an increase in horsepower to the drive wheels of the vehicle. The K&N horsepower guarantee is simple and straightforward. As Steve Perry from Michigan said about his Ford Fusion intake 69-3515TS “The air intake arrived quickly and on time from K&N. It was packaged well and included clear instructions and a hard copy of the dyno sheet. I like that K&N actually supplies the data to support their guaranteed horsepower claim.”

If all that weren’t enough, K&N backs its Ford Fusion air intake systems with a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. K&N is confident in its products because each one will undergo rigorous testing in both laboratory and real world situations. Additionally, K&N will warrant that using our products will not result in a vehicle warranty denial. If ever a vehicle warranty department tries to deny the vehicle warranty, or blame the presence of a K&N product, please feel free to contact K&N customer service at 1-800-858-3333 and K&N will work to resolve the issue.
