The mighty Dodge Viper took a three year hiatus as Dodge recovered, and reorganized after the financial bailout and eventual sale to Fiat S.p.A. The Viper is no longer found on the Dodge website, as part of the restructure involved rebranding the Viper as a member of the Street & Racing Technology (SRT) high-performance automobile group within the Chrysler Corporation. Sometimes a little rest and relaxation can do wonders, as the Dodge SRT Viper returned as a refined, high-powered, American exotic hand crafted in Detroit Michigan.

The SRT Group managed to massage forty more horsepower from the giant 8.4L V10 engine than the previous generation Dodge Viper. However, one look at the stock air filter box and K&N air intake designers knew there was room for more performance from the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper. Owners seeking this extra boost in power can now install the 69-2528TTK performance air intake system. 69-2528TTK from K&N is precision-engineered to be a simple-to-install performance add-on. The backbone of this intake system is two free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tubes which help to minimize restriction, allowing the 8.4L V10 engine to breathe easier. A durable black powder coated finish is applied to the air intake tubes, providing a sleek appearance under the hood that will look great for years to come.

On the dyno, 69-2528TTK produced an estimated additional 13.86 HP at 5,273 rpm and a near equivalent 12.21 lb-ft of torque at 4,579 rpm on an already powerful 2013 Dodge SRT Viper

K&N equips 69-2528TTK with the dual oversized chrome-top RF-1048 air filters, providing a large surface to help increase airflow while providing outstanding engine protection. The filter is made with K&N’s famous high-flow performance air filter media so it’s a washable and reusable air filter which can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. A heat shield shrouds the air filters under the hood, helping to direct air entering the factory ram air scoop into the engine. Cold air intake 69-2528TTK includes two K&N Drycharger pre-filter wraps that will help maintain a dry air filter and keep insects from getting stuck in the filter pleats.

All of the design features of the 69-2528TTK performance air intake system work in perfect harmony to deliver increased performance. The 69-2528TTK performance air intake system is an excellent upgrade for your 2013 Dodge SRT Viper or 2013 Viper GTS Coupe powered by an 8.4L V10. K&N history is rooted in motorcycle racing. Before the invention of the World’s Best Air Filter, K&N sold motorcycles, motorcycle accessories, and supported a large K&N factory race team. K&N supported some of motorcycle racing’s finest including Johnny Issics, Ralph White, Stevie Nichols, and even a three-time world motorcycle grand prix champion, “King” Kenny Roberts.

The sight of an original 1969 or 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is enough to make Mustang fans feel like a kid on Christmas morning. The Boss 302 moniker is synonymous with performance as the original car was developed to meet homologation rules for SCCA Trans-Am Series racing. With such a rich racing heritage attributed to the Boss 302 any idea of resurrecting the iconic nameplate left the modern Ford Mustang 5.0 with large shoes to fill. Fortunately for Boss 302 purists the 2012 and 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 5.0L did not disappoint.

The 2012 and 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 5.0L uses the same engine as the Mustang GT, however, extensive modifications were made bringing up the horsepower rating to 444 HP

The 2012 and 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 5.0L uses the same engine as the Mustang GT. However, extensive modifications were made to the late model air intake tract, including the manifold, cylinder heads, and camshafts. While the Mustang GT 5.0-liter engine is fast, the 2012 and 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 5.0-liter engine produced an additional 32 horsepower and is rated at 444 horsepower from the factory.

Austin Hill waives the checkered flag as he and the Hill Brothers Racing Team celebrates back to back wins at both Dover International Speedway and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East

Austin Hill began the Drive Sober 150 lap race at Dover International Speedway in ninth place. According to Hill “The first 75 laps were not that great. We came in the pits, made a huge swing at it, and went back out there. The car came to life then.”

By lap 93 Hill had driven the number 22 A&D Welding/Don Rich Ford to the front and was battling with Brennan Newberry for the lead. The two cars made contact sending Newberry and his number 24 Chevrolet into a spin and Hill was forced into the pits with a flat tire. A quick tire change by the A&D Welding/Don Rich Ford pit crew helped Hill get back onto the track on the lead lap.

Hill came back from that flat tire in 13th place but wasted no time making his way through the field toward the leaders. On lap 120 Hill had once again taken the lead and began to pull away from the other drivers. “Once I took the lead I never looked back,” said Hill. By the time the checkered flag was waived Hill had stretched his lead to more than five seconds over his nearest competitor.

Kaz Grala, only 15-years-old, finished second making the Drive Sober 150 at Dover International Speedway his career best NASCAR K&N Pro Series East finish. Scott Heckert rounded out the podium with a third place finish in the number 34 Project Lifesaver Chevrolet.

Louisville, Kentucky racer Ben Rhodes was officially rewarded the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship trophy from NASCAR President Mike Helton. Rhodes finished 15th in the Drive Sober 150 at Dover International Speedway, however he had clinched the series title after the last race at Greenville Pickens Speedway. “Glad we had the points lead going into this race. We had some bad mechanical issues. The motor didn’t feel right from the green flag,” said Rhodes. Rhodes also previously secured the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Sunoco Rookie of the year honors.

Rhodes will be honored for his championship winning rookie season at the NASCAR Touring Series Awards in the Grand Ballroom of the Charlotte, North Carolina Convention Center at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Cameron Hayley finished out the series in second place and Gray Gaulding took third.

Performance Air Filter Available For 2014, 2015 & 2016 Yamaha MT-09 and FZ-09 Triple From K&N

K&N high-flow air filter number YA-8514 is engineered to increase airflow while also fitting inside the stock air filter box of 2014-2016 Yamaha inline triple MT-09 & FZ-09 models

K&N high-flow air filter number YA-8514 is engineered to increase airflow while also fitting inside the stock air filter box of 2014-2016 Yamaha inline triple MT-09 & FZ-09 models

The Yamaha MT-09, or FZ-09 as it is called in the United States, is a significant new model in the Yamaha Motor Company’s vehicle line up. Yamaha product manager Shun Miyazawa said motorcycle buyers are moving away from supersport motorcycles and trending toward naked street fighter type bikes. Perhaps the most direct competition to the 2014 Yamaha MT-09 & FZ-09 model is the Triumph Street Triple. Similar to the Triumph Street Triple, the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Yamaha MT-09/FZ-09 is powered by a liquid cooled 847cc inline triple cylinder engine. An inline triple engine has a unique combination of power, torque, and low-weight in comparison to other engine configurations. Yamaha has not produced an inline triple since the Yamaha XS750 and Yamaha XS850 motorcycles of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

The 2014 MT-09, or FZ-09 in the U.S., uses the first Yamaha inline triple since Yamaha XS750 and Yamaha XS850 models were manufactured from 1976 to 1981

The 2014 MT-09, or FZ-09 in the U.S., uses the first Yamaha inline triple since Yamaha XS750 and Yamaha XS850 models were manufactured from 1976 to 1981

Here to help boost horsepower and torque of the 2014-2016 Yamaha inline triple MT-09 & FZ-09 models is a world famous reusable air filter from K&N. A K&N washable air filter is different from stock in that K&N uses cotton gauze filter media woven to exacting specifications. Cotton, by nature, is more breathable than the paper or foam media used for most motorcycle air filters. Since an internal combustion engine is essentially an air pump, getting air into your engine with less restriction can increase performance, acceleration, and throttle response.

Flow Chart for K&N Air Filter YA-8514

Flow Chart for K&N Air Filter YA-8514

Some might be worried that an increase in airflow comes at the expense of filtration efficiency and engine protection. To put minds at ease K&N performs filtration efficiency testing following the ISO 5011 protocol to guarantee that our air filters will provide high airflow without sacrificing engine protection. YA-8514 was shown to have a 98.52% overall filtration efficiency when tested with ISO coarse test dust. Calling this test dust coarse is almost preposterous, as 22% of the dust is rated at 10 microns or less. To provide perspective, a human blood cell is typically between 6 and 8 microns across.

Perhaps more exciting than the increased performance that comes with a K&N high-flow air filter is that they are also a washable and reusable air filter. The ability to wash and reuse a K&N air filter means that it will pay for itself over time. K&N high performance air filter YA-8514 can be washed and made like new using one of the K&N Recharger air filter service kits. Recharger 99-5000 includes 12 fluid ounces of air filter cleaner and a 6.5 ounce aerosol bottle of air filter oil for quick and easy application. Recharger, 99-5050, differs in that it includes an 8 ounce squeeze bottle of K&N filter oil for a more precise application.

Part number YA-8514 for 2014-2016 Yamaha MT-09 & FZ-09 inline triple models is backed by the industry leading K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty. This means that Yamaha MT-09 & FZ-09 inline triple owners can enjoy a lifetime of increased performance, reusability, and long air filter service intervals when using K&N washable air filter part number YA-8514.

YA-8514 is designed provide a lifetime of increased performance without any need for modifications or tuning for the following motorcycles:
